Session Minute Hi-Lites
April 19, 2007 meeting

The Session met on April 19, 2007 with eleven members present, our Moderator, The Rev. Dr. Charles Colson, Commissioned Interim Lay Pastor, Henry Distler and one guest, Susan Hoke.. The meeting was called to order by Commissioned Interim Lay Pastor, Henry Distler at 7:07 P.M. with devotions taken from I Corinthians 1: 10 followed with prayer.

The business meeting was called to order by Henry Distler and the regular order of business began with the approval of the minutes and the financial reports Sue Hoke was received as the newly elected Deacon with the Installation date set for Sunday, April 22, 2007 during morning worship

Correspondence -

Outgoing -

Membership rolls were reviewed and letters will be sent to inactive members after the Easter Season.

Incoming -

Received information from Lehigh Presbytery regarding the Pastoral Care Network - refers to some thought for the pastor's spouse and their needs.

The annual reading of the 2006 Session Minutes will be on May 12, 2007 at 1st. Pres. Allentown at 9:00 A.M.

Letter from Lehigh Presbytery inviting us to host a Presbytery Meeting - Date Chosen April 22, 2008.

Mission Projects for this year will be Blanket Sunday and Pentecost Offering.

Request received from Nursery School regarding the condition of the class rooms on a Monday Morning. This issue is being addressed.

Received a flyer from Egypt UCC Church informing us of a Healthy Church Seminar scheduled for May 12, 2007 from 10 to 1:30 P.M.

Request to transfer Susan Selzer to the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua.

Letter received from G. A. regarding Financial Campaign Services.

Presbyterian Heritage Newsletter Request from PW to hold an Ice Cream Social on August 25th.

NOTE; Mark you calendar's now - The Choir's Annual Basket Bingo will be at the Schnecksville Fire Company on November 16, 2007.

If you receive an evaluation form in your Sunday bulletin it's important that you fill it out and return to Henry A/S/A/P.

Request May 13, 2007 to baptize his grandaughter Sarah Jane Longenderfer

Next Session Meeting May 17, 2007 at 6:45 P.M. examination of confirmants.

An Adult Leader Workshop is being held in Philadelphia on May 17th.

MEMBERSHIP:

Letters will be going out to inactive members very shortly.

MINISTRY REPORTS:

Worship and Music -

Request for baptism on May 13, 2007. Communion was taken to the shut-ins.
Christian Education -

Youth Ministry schedule of events

4/21 Camp Brainerd Work Detail
4/28 Church clean up
5/12 Food Bank Packaging
5/20 Confirmation and Fishing Festival at Camp Brainerd.
VBS held an organizational meeting on 4/17 Anyone.interested in helping call Debbie Snyder. It's important that parents give some thought in enrolling their children in our Sunday school program as there has been a tremendous decline over the past year. The last session of Sunday School before summer vacation is June 10th. Don't forget Confirmation Sunday is May 20th. They need your support and well wishes.

Presbyterian Women -

The PW of Lehigh Presbytery met on Friday, April 20th in Pottsville. The Basket Social/Bazaar was cancelled due to the Basket Bingo Scheduled for November 16. If possible the event will be scheduled for the spring.. Deacons - Were thanked for the nice job they did with the Easter Flowers. Sue Hoke will be installed on April 22, 2007 during morning worship.

Turning Point -

Don't forget to drop your old unused cell phones and computer ink cartridges in the basket in the hall.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Communication -

Tammy Seidick has updated the Web-Site and the Newsletter. We hope everyone saw the Easter Advertisement in the Morning Call. Look for future advertisements in the Saturday Morning Call.
Fellowship/Group Life -

Easter Breakfast was great but not well attended. Look for information on Dinners planned for the future. Game night on April 21, 2007. Possibility of a Mother's Day breakfast in May.
Personnel -

Mr. Shedler has been hired to do the grass cutting.
Nominating -

Nothing to report.

Property -

A broken window in the garage needs to be replaced, tree in the front of the church needs to be trimmed and there is a need to purchase a lawn mower.

The C.I.F. form has been returned for minor corrections.

The next meeting of Session will be on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at 6:45 P.M.p The meeting was closed in prayer by The Rev. Dr. Charles Colson at 9:15 P.M.
