Session
Minute Hi-Lites
May 17, 2007 meeting
The Session
met on May 17, 2007 with twelve members present, our Commissioned Interim
Lay Pastor, Henry Distler and guests, Doug Barriner, Brynne Heffner,
Haley Linton, Shannon McNeil, and Carlee Wormman. The Meeting was called
to order by Commissioned Interim Lay Pastor, Henry Distler at 7:00 P.M.
with devotions taken from Isaiah 42:16 followed with prayer.
Eileen
Tremblay introduced our guests, the confirmands. These five young people
were received by Session into the membership of the church and will
be confirmed on May 20, 2007. Henry dismissed the confirmands with prayer.
Two
Baptisms
were requested for June 3, 2007. The son of Amy Pidgeon and the daughter
of Robert and Nicole Hartman. Prior to the Baptism Nicole and Robert
need to be received into membership on Reaffirmation of Faith.
Both Amy
Pidgeon and Donald Thomas were transferred from Inactive to Active Membership
roll.
The
business meeting was called to order by Henry Distler and the regular
order of business began with the approval of the minutes and the financial
reports

Outgoing

Presbytery
was notified that our church would be willing to host a Presbytery Meeting
on April 22, 2008.
Incoming
-
Letter
from Lehigh County Council of Churches notifying us of their upcoming
schedule of events which includes the CROP WALK. Letter from Presbyterian
Church USA for a National Elders conference in Nashville, Tenn.
CLERK'S
REPORT:
Replies
were sent to: The Catasauqua Presbyterian Church - Transfer request
for Susan Setzer. Lehigh Presbytery informing them of our 2007 $2,500
Mission Pledge Donna Fink & Barbara Quigg attended the reading of
Session Minutes on Saturday, May 12, 2007.

PASTOR'S
REPORT:
Listed
dates, mileage and hours worked for April 16 thru May 17, 2007 Henry
and Carol Steigerwalt gave Communion to 17 Shut-Ins. Reported no further
information on the CHES picnic Pulpit exchange went well. Requested
that those who receive evaluation forms to keep them coming. Suggested
that CHES churches join in giving to Westminster Village "Giving for
Living" campaign-Will be discussed at the next CHES meeting. Requested
study leave from November 12-19, 2007. Next Session Meeting June 21,
2007 at 7:00 P.M. An Adult Leader Workshop is being held in Philadelphia
on May 17th.
MEMBERSHIP:
Letters
are ready to go out to inactive members.
MINISTRY
REPORTS
Worship
and Music - Request for two baptisms on June 3, 2007. Summer worship
begins at 9:00 A.M. on June 17th and Winter Worship begins on September
2nd at 10:00 A.M.
Christian
Education -
VBS is June 25 - 29, 2007. Call Debbie Snyder if you wish to help.
Presbyterian
Women -
The Basket /Ice Cream Social is on August 25, 2007. Barbara Quigg will
be attending the Synod PW Gathering At Waynesburg College - June 13
- 16, 2007.
Deacons
- Purchased silk flowers for the alter.
Turning
Point - Nothing to report.
COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Communication
- Tammy Seidick has made some inquiries and described several ways to
advertise and wrote an article for the Lehigh Presbytery Newsletter.
Fellowship/Group
Life - There may be a possibility of a breakfast after curch during
the summer months.
Personnel

Mr. Shedler has begun cutting the church lawn...
Nominating
- Nothing to report.
Property
- A lawn mower has been purchased at a cost of $3,400..
Gifts
of the Heart - Nothing to report.
Pastoral
Nominating Committee - The C.I.F. form has been corrected, signed
and returned to the Committee on Ministry.
The next
meeting of Session will be on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
