Session
May 15, 2008 meeting
The Session met on May 15, 2008 with nine members present, seven guests and Commissioned Lay Pastor, Henry Distler. With a quorum present the Meeting was called to order by Henry at 7:00 p.m. Henry spoke to all those present about the importance of each member within a church family and how we need and depend on each other as well as a willingness to give financial support, be a regular attendee, but most of all to have a daily prayer life.
CLERK'S
REPORT:
Valarie Mack, Walter Hertzog, Jr. and Louiseann Hein were received into membership on April 27, 2008.
On May 10th Donna Fink, Eileen Tremblay and Barb Quigg attended the reading of Session Minutes at Allentown First Presbyterian Church on May 10, 2008. There were no exceptions in our minutes.
Summer worship will begin on June 15th at 9:30 a.m. thru September 7, 2008.
PASTOR'S
REPORT:
Distributed copies of his activity reports for April 25, to May 14, 2008 which included: Time schedule for hours worked and mileage, suggested upcoming mission projects, and worship services.
Keep those evaluation forms coming.
Worship Services:
May 18 - Confirmation Sunday
May 25 - Deacon Sunday / Schlosser Reaffirmation / Baptism
June 1 - Communion
June 8 - Speaker for Minute for Mission / Children Sing / Last day for Men's Father's Day Gifts
June 15 - Begin Summer Schedule at 9:30 a.m. / Father's Day
An internet hook up will soon be installed in the Pastor's office.
Henry expressed his appreciation for such a short Congregational Meeting and the willingness of Valarie Mack and June Linton to step forward and volunteer to serve on the Nomination Committee.
Vanessa Schlosser will be received into membership on May 25th by reaffirmation of faith and her son, Robert, will be baptized.
Henry will be on vacation from July 2 to July 15th.
The next Session Meeting will be on June 19th at 7:00 p.m.

Thank you note was received from The Rev. Steve Schusett for hosting the CHES Meeting.
MINUTES of April 24, May 11, 2008 Congregational and Special Session Meetings were received as presented with no additions or corrections.
FINANCIAL REPORT for April 24, 2008 was received and reviewed. Report was filed for Audit. NOTE: Per Capita for 2008 is $21.00 per member.
MINISTRY
REPORTS
Worship
and Music -
Jared Shuey, Amber Schray and Emily Hoke were received into membership on May 18, 2008. A social hour followed to honor these young people for completing two years of confirmation classes under the leadership of Eileen Tremblay and Carl Moran.
An updated list of Communion servers was distributed to each Elder. Supply pastors are needed for July 2 and July 15th.
Christian
Education -
The last day of Sunday School before Summer vacation is June 8th.
Eileen Tremblay resigned as Sunday School Superintendent and Sandy Moran has willingly volunteered to fill the position.
VBS will run from June 23 - 27, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. with a light dinner at 5:30 p.m. If you are willing to help contact Debbie Snyder. Donations will be greatly appreciated.
Presbyterian
Women -
The Ice Cream/Basket Social is scheduled for July 19, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m. with the drawing at 4:30 p.m. Donations of filled baskets, containers, gift cards, gift certificates and monetary donations will be greatly appreciated. Tickets are on Sale with any member of the PW Association.
In case you haven't noticed, there is a basket in the vestibule that is beginning to fill up with men's items. We are collecting these items to give to Westminster Village for distribution on Father's Day. Suggestions - toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving cream, socks, note paper, stamps, etc. No sharp items like razors or scissors please.

Life -
The Bar-B-Q/Blue Grass Social will be held on June 21st from 2 to 6 p.m. The proceeds will go to the Roof Fund so we need your help to support this worthy cause.
Nominating
-
Valarie Mack and June Linton were elected by the congregation to serve on the Nominating Committee.
Property
-
Session decided to upgrade the Sound System and purchase a new TV for the purpose of upgrading the Chapel for those who find it difficult to climb the stairs for Sunday morning worship. The project is to be complete and ready for use on September 7th.
Pastoral
Nominating Committee -
Tuesday, May 20th the committee will have a telephone interview with one of the candidates.
