The
Presbyterian Women of the First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua
is a group of dedicated women who are divided into two Circles.
Circle I meets the last Monday of each month except June, July
and August. Circle II meets the last Thursday of each month except
June, July and August. Both Circles meet at noon and each member
brings a bag lunch. Dessert, tea and coffee are provided.
We meet for Bible Stody (the Parables) and prayer. We are deeply
involved in mission work in our community, state, country and
world. We are great supporters of our Church, Brainerd Presbyterian
Center and Westminster Village.
Contact: Barbara Quigg, Moderator, or Margaret "Honey"
Fink, Fellowship Chair. Call the
church at (610) 264-9693 or email hokeypres@verizon.net
to
get in touch.
Each year we have an annual Basket social/Bazaar on the last Saturday
of October. During the year we run various money making projects
such as soup sales and pie sales. All of our revenue is used for
people in need, for help in covering church expenses, for sponsoring
scholarships, and for purchasing items needed for the Church kitchen.
Our purpose is to nurture our faith through Prayer and Bible Study,
supporting mission worldwide, working for justice and peace, building
a caring community of women, and being witness to the promise
of God's kingdom.
